Team Beachbody Coaching. What You Fear It Is. What It Can Be For You.

by Terri Cruce on August 26, 2011

If you know me at all, you know that I am a number of things.  I am a mom.  I am a wife.  I am a lover and defender of animals.  I love my family and they always come first in my life, before anything else.

I am also a Team Beachbody coach.

Why did I become a coach?  Why would anyone decide to become a coach?  Who can be a coach?  Who can’t?

I find in my travels and discussions with people that there are lots of ideas about what coaching is all about, and I am always surprised at just how misunderstood it is out there in the general community.

Certainly there are those who know from the get-go what it is and what an amazing opportunity it really is.  But there are just as many who have a whole different perception, and it’s that perception that stops them from looking closer.

First, what is coaching with Team Beachbody?

It is either a great way to get a 25% discount on products, specifically and to the greatest advantage, Shakeology.  For some, this is the only thing it is.  And that’s enough.

For others, people like me, it is a chance to change the course of their lives and the lives of their families.  It can be the catalyst that turns an overweight, unhealthy person into someone who is fit and healthy, loaded with energy and vitality and able to enjoy life to the fullest.

Yes, it is a fitness company.  Yes,Team Beachbody coaches are representatives of arguably the best fitness company in existence.  No other fitness company offers as complete a package for health and well-being as Beachbody.  When you represent this company, you can feel proud to represent the very best that the fitness community has to offer.

Still, people fear being a coach.  It is mind boggling to me.

We live in a very unstable time.  Unemployment is high, people are unhappy with or worried about their jobs.  Many hate what they do every day.  Many have very little time to spend with their families and when they do have time, they have no money to do the things they want to do.

Coaching not only allows you to focus on your health and change your life from a physical standpoint, it also can change your life financially.

And yet, I meet resistance from people.  Many are either convinced it’s something it’s not, like a pyramid scheme, or they think they can’t do it, they aren’t fit enough, they’re too shy, they don’t have enough time, they don’t have enough money.  Those are the most common things I hear.  Let me tell you, none of those reasons are a deterrent unless you make them so.

First, as to pyramid schemes, those are illegal.  Beachbody has been in business for over a decade, selling first rate fitness products.  Pyramid schemes have no viable product and make their money only on recruiting.

With Beachody, no money is made by the company when someone signs up.  And the products are the very best on the market.  Simply put, they work.   So let’s put that one to rest.

Second, you think you can’t do it.

Can you recommend a good restaurant that you just loved to another person?  Have you ever raved about a movie to someone and they went and saw it because of what you said? Have you ever shared something with someone because you wanted to help them?  Have you ever reached out to another just because you wanted to do something to make them feel better?

If you’ve done any of those things, you have been a coach.

You think you’re too shy.

Well, I am a very shy person.  I worried more about that than anything else when I started.  But not only did it not hinder me at all, it actually made me more confident and more comfortable with people than I’ve ever been in my life.

As for money and time, if you have very little of either of those, coaching can be the very thing that gives them back to you.  There are coaches in this organization who signed up on the brink of bankruptcy.  Who had hardly any money at all.  Now they’re making six-figure incomes.  All because they believed in themselves enough to try.  They not only have more money to do what they want to do and to provide for their families, they also have more time to spend doing what they want to do with the people they most want to be with.

I am always struck by the fact that the very people who have little money or time are the very ones who need something like coaching most of all.

As for fear of failure, fear of not being able to afford to do it, fear of this and fear of that, well, fear is your worst enemy.  If fear is the only thing holding you back, then you need to face those fears head on and ask yourself, what is the worst thing that can happen.

Here’s the worst thing that can happen.  You can get fit, you can get healthy, you can help others.  Even if that was all you got out of it, wouldn’t that be enough?

Yes, if you want to grow fast, you have to put in some time and effort.  Are you seriously going to say you can’t do that?  You aren’t up to it?  Come on!  You are worth it!  Your loved ones are worth it!

Lastly, if you become a coach and decide it’s not for you, there are no thugs waiting in a dark alley to take you down.  This is not the mafia!!  You can get out.

When it comes right down to it, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by giving it a try.

There are so many reasons why you should give coaching  a try.

There are very few reasons why you shouldn’t.
